Zoo Tierpark Görlitz-Zgorzelec
The zoo primarily exhibits animals from Europe and Asia. The Görlitz-Zgorzelec Zoo is the only place in Europe with a Tibetan Village. It features Tibetan structures and local farm animals: yaks, camels, Kashmir goats, and Tibetan pigs. Porcupines and peacocks roam the grounds.
The Görlitz-Zgorzelec Zoo features the Lusatian Valley with ponds and footbridges, as well as beavers, raccoons, otters, and swans. There's also an Alpine slope with chamois and Alpine marmots. The garden also features a mongoose zone. In addition to animals from Asia and Europe, the zoo also houses giant kangaroos, and their enclosure is accessible.
The Görlitz-Zgorzelec Zoo also features an alternative playground in the Explorers' Barn. There are secret passages, a climbing wall, a relaxation area, and slides, as well as animal inhabitants of the attic, the pigeons. Children can visit the rabbit enclosure and pet the animals there.
The Görlitz-Zgorzelec Zoo is open 365 days a year:
from March to October from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM,
from November to February from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
