Temporary Exhibition "Dolls, Stuffed Animals, and Building Blocks: What Has Entertained Us for Years"
Each of us had a favorite toy as a child. Girls usually played with dolls, boys with cars, and a teddy bear would lull us to sleep, comfort us through childhood worries, and accompany us on trips and important occasions. We didn't care if our favorite stuffed animal was worn out, had a torn ear, or stains of unknown origin, because after all, it was our best friend. We usually outgrow our fascination with toys with age, but for a few enthusiasts, it remains a lifelong passion.

We invite everyone who wants to revisit childhood or learn about objects associated with childhood play to the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, where the Alfons Karpiński Painting Gallery will host the extraordinary exhibition "Dolls, Stuffed Animals, and Building Blocks: What Has Entertained Us for Years." In 2023, we launched the project "Not Just the Men's World of Mechanical Toys." This time, we decided to explore the world of dolls, teddy bears, and building blocks, as well as objects closer to the hearts of women.

The exhibition will showcase toys that children played with from the 1960s to the present day. Adult visitors will relive fond memories thanks to exhibits provided by the Museum of Toys and Play in Kielce, the Museum of Bedtime Stories from the Wojciech Jama Collection in Rzeszów, and private collectors Mariusz Kmita and Katarzyna Lubas, who provided toys with a soul from years gone by. Barbie™ dolls and LEGO® bricks from the private museums Bricks&Figs and Wheels&Heels in Krakow will also provide plenty of excitement.

The exhibition will offer plenty of fun and a chance to take a souvenir photo in a children's room specially arranged for the occasion. Visitors will also be taken on a journey back in time, when toys were acquired and people had to wait in long lines to get them.

This project is an exhibition and educational endeavor – event participants will be able to take advantage of the thematic educational offerings and attractions accompanying the exhibition.

The exhibition also aims to evoke memories and evoke positive emotions. It is an invitation to spend time with children and grandchildren and inspire conversations.
